The ARRA Educational Technology funds are to be used for activities aligned to Title IID program goals and requirements including increasing student academic achievement through strategies such as improving teacher capacity for integrating technology into teaching and learning, increasing student access and opportunity to 21st century learning opportunities, and increasing student technological literacy by the end of eighth grade.
Districts receiving ARRA Educational Technology (Title IID) funds must:
• Use at least 25 percent of funds to provide ongoing, sustained, and intensive, high-quality professional development in the integration of technology that is based on a review of relevant research. Professional development should focus on the integration of technologies, including emerging technologies, into teaching and learning.
• Use funds to support the development and implementation of lessons aligned to Oregon Educational Technology and academic standards by integrating technology into instruction to enhance and extend student learning.
• Implement performance measures to determine the effectiveness of instructional technology programs funded under Title IID
The remaining funds are to be used to carry out other activities consistent with the purposes of the program, Oregon Educational Technology Standards, the district’s Technology Plan and Continuous Improvement Plan and aligned with the Essential Skills in the Oregon Diploma.
